The school is called Fáy András secondary technical and vocational school , it is in Bátonyterenye sorrounded by hills, valleys, forests and lakes.

Our school was built in 1950, and it was the centre of the miners ’ education , but nowadays this region is one of  the most problematic territories of Hungary.

The greatest challenge for us is to study different trades to find the most apropriate jobs in the labour market.

There are 4 fields of educational training for about 700 students:

-         iron and metal industy

-         clothing and textil industry

-         wood industry

-         environmental technology – it is our new profile for 240 students

Students are taught:

-         management, enterprice

-         information technology

-         modern foreign languages : English, French, German.

We study at a special branch of our school ’s education. We would like to become environmentalists to be able to solve the problems of our local environment.

We are at the lab once a week , we study interesting things, our subjects have got great connection with science. We use laboratory analyses, we must study many different technical terms , and using of tools and instruments. We analyse water, soil, and air samples, we prefer biological exam of local rivers, becouse it means excursions, and have an inspection to all natural aspects.

We have more than 700 students / from 14 – 22 ages old /

And 48 teachers, and workshops / metall, wood, clothing industry and for hair dressers too.
